Practice updates

Practice Closure for PLT 2022 - Wednesday 20th July, Thursday 22nd September, Wednesday 19th October, Thursday 17th November 

Practice will be closed for PLT on the above dates from 1pm for Protected Learning Time. We will re-open at 8am the following day, if during this time you need urgent medical attention or advice please visit or call 111 which is free from both landlines and mobiles.

Face Coverings in Practice

From 7.6.22 mask wearing in primary care is no longer compulsory - so what does this mean for us in practice:

If you have a high temp/cough/loss of taste or smell or any other covid symptoms such as - shortness of breath, muscle ache, diarrhoea/vomiting, headaches, common cold symptoms,  then unless it is an urgent appointment you maybe be offered an alternative for when your symptoms have subsided. If you are required to be seen urgently you should wear a face covering and you will be asked to sit in our sunroom.

Patients with respiratory symptoms who require treatment should wear a face covering when attending or offered one on arrival.

Practice Access

Please note Hough Green Health Park is open, if you need an appointment you will be offered either a telephone or face 2 face appointment. We are offering pre-bookable appointments up to 2 weeks in advance with a GP and up to 4 weeks in advance with a nurse. We also offer on the day appointments which are available from 8am each morning (please note these appointments go very quickly so we encourage you to book a pre-bookable in advance). Once all our appointments are gone for the day reception staff will care navigate you to the next service that is available for your needs.

As an alternative why not use e-consult you can get a reply within 48hrs, E-Consults are accessed by practice staff Monday-Friday between 8am-6.30pm only, you will receive a response to the e-consult within 48hrs. We do not have access over weekends or Bank Holidays to e-consult, If you need an urgent response during these times please contact NHS111.  Click the image below to start an e-consult. Please note e-consult is not to be used for urgent on the day advice or treatment as it can take up to 48 working hours to be triaged.


If you have a query please call 0151 5115805.  If you are requesting medication please ensure you have nominated a pharmacy for us to send you prescription to electronically.  

You should still NOT come into surgery or attend A&E or Urgent Care Centres if you have a new continuous cough and or a high temperature above 37.8 degrees and or a loss of smell and taste. If you have these symptoms please isolate and visit NHS 111 website www.111.nhs for advice and guidance or by telephone on 111.

Call 999 - if you feel very unwell or think there is something seriously wrong.

Friends & Family Test (FFT)

The NHS Friends and Family Test (FFT) is an important opportunity for you to provide feedback on the care and treatment you receive from the NHS and to help improve services. From 1 December 2014, NHS England has made it a contractual requirement that all GP Practices undertake the FFT.
In order to provide this feedback, you can CLICK HERE which anonymously sends your response or you can pick up the questionnaire in the Practice and complete and post in the green posting box in the Practice Reception Area.

Online Access to Medical Records

We now offer Online access to your medical records at the Practice . This means that you are able to access the information you need, to make the right choices about the care you receive, giving you increased control over your own care and care records. Access will allow you to book appointments, order your repeat medication easily and quickly, over the internet from home, work or on the move, view some of the electronic medical information held about you in the GP system. You will be required to register for online access, and will be given a password to activate your account. Please download NHS app for further details or visit patient online access.
